Gentle & Non-Touch Treatments

Gentle and Non-Force Chiropractic Adjustment Techniques

Gentle and No Touch Techniques

Bio-Energetic Synchronization Technique (BEST)

BEST is a widely-used gentle, painless and non-force pressure-point therapy. It balances body, mind, memory and energy fields by touching certain points around the head and body in a specific sequence and may be combined with breath work.

Network Spinal Assessment (NSA)

Utilizing precise gentle-touch applications to the spine, NSA treatments trigger gentle undulatory motions of the spine and surrounding structures — called the “healing wave” — that help to promote wellness and self-awareness. Patients often remark that they have a hard-to-describe reaction that gives them a whole-body sense of calm and balance without actually feeling the wave or any other physical sensation while receiving the treatment.

Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT)

Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT) is a gentle technique founded in 1925. It is so named because of the relationship between the sacrum (base of the spine) and the occiput (base of the skull), which both pump Cerebro-Spinal Fluid (CSF) from the base of the spine back up the spinal canal to the brain and throughout the nervous system. The minute rhythmical motion that circulates the CSF is essential to optimal health, effectively acting as the circulatory system of the brain and spinal cord.

Each adjustment has a sign or signal from the body that is used by the Chiropractor to know when and where to make the next adjustment. For example, muscle tension at the knee may indicate the pelvis needs correction. Tight connective tissue fibers at the base of the skull indicate different vertebra in the back or spine may be in need of an adjustment.

Impulse IQ

Impulse IQ is an FDA-registered device that provides gentle and precise computer-aided chiropractic adjustments. Looking a little bit like a toy gun, the Impulse IQ delivers precisely measured gentle pulses directly to the spine. It then gives computerized real-time feedback to how the spine is moving during a treatment so that just the right amount of care can be provided at every moment. Patients are usually very curious about what the Impulse IQ and the feedback beeps are because they don’t feel the adjustment or hear any of the “cracking” they generally associate with a chiropractic treatment.

No-Touch Technologies

Low-level Cold Laser (Near Infrared/Red Light Therapy)

Red and near-infrared light wavelengths encourage the cell’s mitochondria (power generators of the cell) to produce more ATP (energy-carrying molecules). In turn, cellular processes like cell repair are heightened as the energy obtained from the breakdown of food is released to fuel these other processes.

The body's muscles, ligaments, cartilage and nerves naturally absorb light treatments without the patient ever feeling heat or any other sensations. There are no side effects, no burning or scarring and no downtime. This emerging field of healing therapies is called Photobiomodulation Therapies and can also be used to increase blood and lymph fluid circulation, reduce acute inflammation and remove scarring. Learn more about Cold Laser…

DiaPulse Pulsed Electromagnetic Frequency (PEMF)

Healthy cells have both positive and negative charges that — not unlike the oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange of breathing — facilitate the exchange of potassium, sodium and calcium ions throughout the body. When cells are over-stressed or damaged, the balance of these charges is off and the body’s ability to regenerate and heal is hindered. PEMF restores the balance of positive and negative charges within damaged cells, restoring them to their normal function. There are no contraindications and no side effects. Learn more about DiaPulse Therapy…

Gentle Muscle Stimulation (Physical Therapy)

Acoustic Compression Ultrasound

Neuromuscular Re-Education

Generally considered as the foundation for Physical Therapy, Neuromuscular Re-Education is a step-by-step approach to restoring movement, balance, coordination, posture and stability. With an understanding that muscles and nerves work together with the brain in complex patterns of coordinated movements, we know that walking and running, climbing stairs and performing daily functions had to be learned from when we were babies. Sometimes these patterns of muscle memories are lost after a traumatic injury or stroke, but they can be relearned and fully restored.

Ultrasound (Acoustic Compression) Therapy

We utilize Ultrasound (Acoustic Compression) Technology that is also generally seen in Physical Therapy clinics. Sound waves emitted from the machine expand in the body as a wave and gently affect soft tissue injuries by increasing blood flow to those areas. This therapy is especially helpful for injuries within tightly packed joints — knees, elbows and shoulders — that normally don’t get as much blood circulation as larger muscle groups. It is also very effective at breaking down scar tissue and calcifications and stimulating metabolism. It is non-invasive, painless, gentle and 100% safe. Learn more about Ultrasound...

Electrical Stimulation Therapy

Similar to TENS units that are readily available at most pharmacies, Electrical Stimulation Therapy applies small electrical currents to affected soft tissue injuries or muscle spasms. Depending on the frequency setting applied, the unit we have can also be used to coax fluid out of swollen joints and other sites of injury where there is swelling. Learn more about Electrical Stimulation Therapy
